THE GREAT ROUTE OF FILM BY ANDALUSIA
Casa Pilatos, Sevilla

This 15th-century palace, combining both Renaissance and Mudejar styles, is the largest private palace in the city of Seville. It is owned by the Duke and Duchess of Medinaceli. It was built in 1483 and its stunning beauty has converted the place into the set of numerous cinematographic productions along the film history, such as Lawrence of Arabia, 1942: Conquest of Paradise, Kingdom of Heaven, Knight and Day or La Peste.

Here was filmed…

In ‘Lawrence de Arabia’, Casa Pilatos became the General Allenby’s operation centre in Jerusalem, and where Allenby and Peter O’Toole’s characters’ rendezvous took place.

In ‘La Peste’, the inner space of this magnificent Renaissance palace represents Teresa Pinelo’s house, including either her painting workshop and her dormitory and other rooms. However, its façade and the main patio appear as if they were part of the personal residence of the German banker Alejandro Dresdner.
