The Puerto Real Campus is one of four sites which comprise the University of Cadiz. It is located in the municipality of Puerto Real adjacent to the San Pedro River and the neighbourhood of the same name. The campus is unusual in two respects:  it is located in the heart of the Bay of Cadiz Nature Park and is the only one in the Spanish university system where all undergraduate and postgraduate degrees related to maritime studies are available.

In Episode 8 of Season 4, the Puerto Real campus library was used to recreate Queen Elizabeth’s arrival at the Commonwealth Summit in Nassau in the Bahamas in 1985. This was an extremely important moment, preceded as it was by the differences over the Commonwealth which existed between the Queen and the then Prime Minister, Margaret Thatcher.
