The beach of Caño de la Culata is located in Cartaya between the beach of Nuevo Portil and the beach of El Portil. It is named after the pipe that appears between the shore and the sandy areas. It is a white sandy beach that forms dunes and pine groves.

This beach plays a very important role in the series about Magellan and Elcano’s voyage around the world, ‘Boundless’ by RTVE and Amazon Prime, as one of the most significant scenes of the last chapter, the battle of Mactan, which would be Magellan’s last, was filmed here. The filming, which took place over 3 days, involved more than 150 extras and 140 people from the technical team.
