Surrounded by countless meadows replete with holm oaks, its entire surface is located in the natural region of Sierra Morena, in the division of Los Pedroches. Its streets are lined with white façades and bases made of granite – a mineral highly used in popular architecture, which can be found in fountains, wells or in the Municipal Market building.

The locality of Cardeña was the headquarters for most of the teams that participated in the shooting of ‘Among Wolves’ by Gerardo Olivares. There, they were able to enjoy the peculiar cuisine of this town, where the star plates are, undoubtedly, fried suckling pig and all the Iberian pig varieties bred near this village.
