The Casa Palacio del Marqués de las Torres now houses the Museum of the City. The building, originally dating back to the 16th century but later transformed in the 18th century, features at its entrance a notable example of Sevillian Baroque design, highlighted by a pediment adorned with the coat of arms of its former inhabitants. Within the museum, visitors can embark on a historical journey through the city, exploring rooms that showcase tools and models attesting to the lives of the various civilizations that settled in Carmona since the Paleolithic era.
Thanks to the scenes filmed for ‘Proceso a Mariana Pineda’ featuring Pepa Flores and Juanjo Puigcorbé, we can imagine what it must have been like to live in the Casa Marqués de Las Torres, with its patios, staircases, and latticework. Today, this historic building serves as the city’s museum. Its charm is something we can only glimpse during its brief appearance in the blockbuster ‘The Liberator’.
