‘Lawrence of Arabia’s’ art director, John Box, turned the old Casino de la Exposición of 1929 into Damascus’ Town Hall, while the plenary chamber from the Damascene city hall was located in Teatro Lope de Vega.
Información
Built for the Ibero-American Exposition of 1929, the so-called Casino de la Exposición has a central round room crowned by a 60-feet dome. The Teatro Lope de Vega theatre, previously known as Teatro de la Exposición, dependent on Seville’s Town Council, is annexed to it.
