The Castillo de Marchenilla is located in the village of Alcalá de Guadaira, within the province of Sevilla. The trace of the building is almost squared, has towers in the corners and sentries in the middle of each wall, a strong keep and castellated walls and towers. It was built at the end of XIIIth century, to defend from the Muslim incursions, coming precisely from Ronda through the road from Morón.

In the inside of the Castillo de Marchenilla, in Alcalá de Guadaira, the film crew of ‘La Peste’ shot part of the auto-de-fe and in the barbican were shot some sequences inside the walls, together with Celso de Guevara’s chamber of secrets.
