El Cerro (The Hill), known in Muslim times as Mount Laham, is a symbol of Hispano-Arab history and culture. It houses seven towers, three Muslim and four Christian, built by the Templars of Alfonso VII, who converted the site into a fortified chapel after the Christian conquest of the city in 1147. This hill provides an impressive viewpoint offering views of the city of Almería and the Mediterranean coast.
In ‘Wonder Woman 1984’ you can appreciate the views from El Cerro de San Cristóbal, from where you can see, among other important buildings, the two towers of the Church of San Pedro, in a scene in which the DC Comics heroine watches a helicopter fly away over the city.
