Initially named Plaza Mayor and commonly known as the Square of the Four Streets, this plaza became Plaza de la Constitución in 1912, a name that later became permanent. Undoubtedly, it is Málaga’s most renowned square and a central hub where many of the city’s social and political events have taken place over the years. Notable buildings around the square include the Escuela de San Telmo and the Casa del Consulado. Additionally, some of Málaga’s traditional shops remain open in this historic location.
