North of Carmona we find an expectacular location named Cueva de la Batida, though it is really a quearry excavated in the natural rock. Walking inside and going through one of the corridors, you can find a muslim santuary (marabout). On its exterior we can see the traces of the extraction of construction materials made by stonemasons who carved the ashlars of the Carmona churches.
In the area of the Batida cave, one of the most curious scenes ever shot in Carmona was filmed. We see Antonio Dechent characterized as an Indian fighting in a battle in what would be a classic western whose spectator is Ramón, the protagonist of ‘You are my hero’. Both end up having a surreal and tender conversation through the television screen.
