One of the most traditional and well-known neighborhoods in the city of Cádiz, La Viña owes its name to the vineyards that once existed in the area before its urbanization in the 18th century. It is a fishing district with a long-standing carnival tradition, embodying beauty, liveliness, and a vibrant atmosphere.
The central hub of this neighborhood includes Virgen de la Palma Street and the popular Tío de la Tiza Square, where you can visit the Church of La Palma. This church is a site of devotion for the locals and houses the Christ of Mercy and the Virgin of La Palma, from whom the church takes its name. Additionally, the nearby spa of Nuestra Señora de la Palma is located at the foot of one of Spain’s most famous beaches, La Caleta, which is flanked by two majestic castles, San Sebastián and Santa Catalina.
