Nerva was the locality where the train station scenes in Antonio Cuadri’s ‘The heart of the earth’ were shot. Nowadays, the train featured in the film still follows its route around the mines of Riotinto. The director explained that “95% of the scenes were shot in the actual train and only 3 wagons were replicated on set”. Furthermore, Nerva was the setting for the cemetery scenes.
