Located on Eduardo Dato Street, the Royal Artillery Factory is a landmark of Seville’s industrial architecture, closely linked to Spain’s overseas expansion during the Early Modern period. Its foundation dates back to 1565, and it remained active in weapons manufacturing until 1991.
The Royal Artillery Factory is the result of a complex structure composed of multiple sections, as the building was expanded over time through the addition of various constructions. The main façade is made of exposed brick and is divided into two sections. It is listed as a Cultural Heritage Site under the category of Monument.
The spectacular rooftop of the Royal Artillery Factory appears in one of the segments of the opening chase scene in ‘Unit 7′, directed by Alberto Rodríguez.
The set for the police station in ‘Adiós’, directed by Paco Cabezas, was also built within its facilities.
