The Barrio de San Bernardo is located to the north of the historic centre of Seville. The nerve centre of the neighbourhood is the Plaza de San Bernardo, a large square that houses the San Bernardo train station. In the neighbourhood is the Iglesia de San Bernardo, a baroque church with an impressive façade, a place of worship and a historical landmark in the area. Other places of interest in the area are the Royal Artillery Factory of Seville and the bridge and fire station, both designed by the regionalist architect Juan Talavera y Heredia.

The neighbourhood was the location of a large part of the film ‘Solas’ by Benito Zambrano, at that time (1999) San Bernardo was not so reformed, three elements made it attractive, the typical houses of 2 or 3 floors, the bar and the bridge known as the bridge of the firemen. Neither the bus stop nor the settlement existed. On the day of the assembly of the latter the police came to arrest the art department team that was assembling it because they thought it was real. The bar was located in the corner building between San Bernardo street and Eduardo Dato avenue, now closed.
