Located in the Los Remedios neighborhood, the origins of the current Higher Technical School of Engineering date back to the mid-19th century, when the first industrial schools were established in Spain, including the one in Seville. It is a longstanding institution in the history of engineering education in Spain, particularly in the industrial branch, and has often served as an example and model of academic training throughout different periods.
Over the course of its history, the Escuela Politécnica Superior has accumulated a valuable historical heritage: a collection of elements that reflect both the academic training of engineers and industrial culture, and which hold historical, technological, social, and scientific significance.
The façade of the School appeared as the exterior of the police station in the film ‘Unit 7’, directed by Alberto Rodríguez. On nearby Niebla Street was the bar where the police officers gather, and from its windows, the police station can be seen.
