“We wanted to come to Spain because of the weather and the light. And this area (Almería) has a beautiful topography. It a very polyvalent land, with those mountains…, very similar to the Middle East. We saw this (Almería) from a helicopter and I thought it had the potential to become a mix between Memphis and the outside side of the city of Pi-Ramses, including the huge statue of Ramses. Far away, you have the mountains of Sierra Alhamilla, which also seem very similar to Egypt. That is what we imagined here because of the texture and the colours in the landscape”.
