Lawrence of Arabia
Almería · Granada · Sevilla
Winner of 7 Hollywood Oscars, including Best Picture and Best Director, ‘Lawrence of Arabia’ can be considered the first blockbuster shot in Andalusia and the film responsible for making this land a filming destination. The legendary film, considered one of the best in the history of cinema, narrated the life of the British military man T.E. Lawrence, committed against the Turkish army and supporter of the unification of the Arab tribes during the First World War. Fourteen intense months shooting in Jordan, Morocco and Spain resulted in a multi-awarded classical three-hour epic which made Andalusia stand out in the sixties, turning Seville into the exotic cities of Damascus or Cairo and Almeria into the suffocating dessert of the Near East.
