Barrio de la Pescadería
El barrio de la Pescadería (Fishermen Quarter), also known as La Chanca is a popular and painteresque quarter in the city of Almeria. The streets still keep some remains of the Muslim era in Almeria, like the caves, located across the hill to the top, dates from this time and were converted into houses later. The houses with only one floor and a cubic structure painted in white and the doors and windows painted in vivid colours are also very typical of the quarter.

In ‘Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade‘, the Barrio de la Pescadería is where Indiana Jones, Sallah and Professor Jones walk across the streets in the Turkish city of Iskenderum. You can recognise the background in the people and the tiles indicating the door numbers. You can also notice the beginning of the rise to the Alcazaba. The building of the Escuela de Artes y Oficios (School of Arts and Crafts), located only a few meters away, in Pablo Cazard Square, was used to recreate the Presidential Palace of Hatay.
