Jerez de la Frontera
(Cádiz)
Filmed here
The shooting of Pedro Almodóvar’s ‘La ley del deseo’ in Jerez took place over a weekend in an old house located in the corner of the streets Porvenir and Mariñíguez, and in its vicinity, where the house of the parents of Antonio Banderas’ character is located. Eusebio Poncela travels there to speak to him and goes through the streets Corredera, la Campana and Mariñíguez.
Internationally famous for its wine, flamenco and horses, Jerez de la Frontera was founded by the Phoenicians 3,000 years ago. Romans and Arabs once settled there and left a deep mark. With the Catholic Monarchs, the prosperous English wine trade began. Thus, its fortress and its cellars are a must see for visitors, who will also be able to enjoy its monumental architecture as well as its cuisine and wines in the typical stalls.
