The Jardín del Califa is an iconic restaurant located in the heart of Vejer de la Frontera, housed in a former 16th-century granary adjacent to the La Casa del Califa hotel. It draws its inspiration from the era of Arab rule over 700 years ago, particularly reflected in its lush palm-filled garden. Guests can savor flavorful North African and Lebanese dishes, including harira, tagine, skewers, pastilla, couscous, and breuats, alongside local specialties such as atún rojo de almadraba and retinta beef.
In ‘The Girls at the Back’, the Jardín del Califa transforms into David’s restaurant, portrayed by Javier Rey. In the first episode, the five protagonists dine at this charming establishment, where they attempt to set the rules for their first challenge. It is here that they meet David, who becomes a recurring character throughout the series and holds a special place in the heart of one of them. This won’t be the only time they visit this delightful restaurant.
