Llano de Matagallar is a plain surrounded by mountains and hills covered with dense Mediterranean vegetation, including pine, holm oak and cork oak forests. It is home to a great diversity of flora, including endemic species and varied Mediterranean scrub vegetation. The fauna is equally diverse, with the presence of species such as mountain goats, wild boar, eagles and other birds of prey.
