The Paseo Alcalde Marqués de Contadero runs along the left bank of the Guadalquivir River and parallel to the Paseo de Colón along a route that runs from the Puente de Isabel II (or Puente de Triana) to the Puente de San Telmo. It was inaugurated in 1979.
For the filming of Emilio Martínez Lázaro’s ‘Spanish Affairs’, the exterior of a bar on Paseo Alcalde Marqués de Contadero was set up in a fictitious manner. That space was a sports club. After the overwhelming success of this film, for a long time tourists came to the promenade asking where the bar from ‘Ocho apellidos vascos’ was, and were surprised to learn that it had only been a set.
