This gardened area, located inside Parque de María Luisa, contains the buildings for the Archaeological Museum of Seville, the Royal Pavilion and the Museum of Popular Arts and Customs of Seville, all of which were built by Aníbal González between 1913 and 1916 for the Ibero-American Exposition of 1929.

In ‘Lawrence of Arabia’ the buildings in Plaza de América represented municipal buildings in Jerusalem. In the Mudejar Pavilion, Allenby’s private rooms were recreated and the General’s entry into Jerusalem was shot in front of the Archaeological Museum.
