Salobreña is situated on the Costa Tropical of Granada, some 45 kilometres from the capital. It is nestled on a rocky promontory overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, offering stunning views. It preserves a Moorish castle, built in the 9th century, which is very well preserved and houses an archaeological museum. Its beaches are surrounded by cliffs and vegetation and stretch along 6 km of coastline divided into beaches and coves.

Scenes from the film ‘Bernarda’ by Emilio Ruiz Barrachina were filmed at Playa del Peñon. The filming took place in several locations in Salobreña.

A hotel in the city hosted the protagonists of the Netflix series ‘The Time it Takes’, in which we also see its beaches.

Also in the series ‘Los Farad’ we can see some of the beaches of Salobreña, as well as the castle and streets of the town.
