The Tío Pepe bodegas, founded in 1835, and situated close to the monumental complex of the Alcázar and the Cathedral of Jerez, are an essential part of the history of Sherry wines and their unique production process.
The site is synonymous with fine Amontillados, Palos Cortados, Vermouths and Brandies and is formed by a complex of bodegas, interior streets and gardens, catalogued as places of Historical Interest, all of which can be visited on a small train.
In ‘El verano que vivimos’, the Tio Pepe Bodega is one of the film’s principal locations and when Gonzalo arrives in Jerez he meets Hernán who explains the wine making process in the scene shot in the magnificent La Concha bodega, which was designed by Eiffel.
