Situated 27 miles away from the capital of Cádiz, Conil de la Frontera is one of the most picturesque towns in the Costa de la Luz (Coast of Light). Its beaches, its charm and its cuisine have turned it into one of the most touristic towns in the province. In Conil, the beach of Castilnovo is the setting for one scene of Agustín Díaz Yanes’ ‘Alatriste’ in which the swordsman Alatriste disembarks and assists a weak Unax Ugalde as Íñigo Balboa.
