Situated 27 miles away from the capital of Cádiz, Conil de la Frontera is one of the most picturesque towns in the Costa de la Luz (Coast of Light). Conil, in addition to its beautiful coves, has an historical city centre where several watchtowers full of history stand out.
The beach of Conil is mentioned in a letter at the beginning of Pedro Almodóvar’s ‘La ley del deseo’ . Moreover, the beach bar in which Molina’s character work is there.
In Conil, the beach of Castilnovo is the setting for one scene of Agustín Díaz Yanes’ ‘Alatriste’ in which the swordsman Alatriste disembarks and assists a weak Unax Ugalde as Íñigo Balboa.
