In 1941, the Hiladuras y Tejidos Andaluces (Hytasa) factory was inaugurated in the Cerro del Águila neighborhood, a working-class district in Seville, significantly boosting the area’s employment rate. The factory remained active for many years until it finally closed in 1991. Today, the old factory buildings are part of the Hytasa Business Park.
The climax of the feature film ‘3 days’ by F. Javier Gutiérrez takes place in the old thermal power station. Since the site was abandoned, extensive work was required to mark and adapt the space in order to film inside.
Other movies such as ‘Adiós’ by Paco Cabezas and ‘Carmina o revienta’ by Paco León have also been shot on the streets of the Hytasa industrial area.
