Playa de La Caleta
La Caleta is located between the Santa Catalina and San Sebastián castles and its beach is the most popular in the city of Cádiz.
In its vicinity, it should be mentioned, in addition to the defensive fortifications, the Balneario de Nuestra Señora de la Palma y del Real spa, built in the twenties and which currently houses the Centre for Subaquatic Archaeology of the Andalusian Historical Heritage Institute.
Filmed here
For the movie ‘Die Another day‘, the ‘Silver Cup’ became Cuban capital. Thus, from the waters of Playa de la Caleta a spectacular Halle Berry in a bikini came out in one of the most emblematic images of the James Bond movie.
The film ‘Alatriste’ chose the area of La Caleta for the shooting of many scenes, such as the disembarkation of the veterans from the infantry regiment known as Los Tercios which took place on the beach, the scene in the San Sebastián castle, which was the prison where Alatriste recruited several adventure companions for the assault on the galleon, or the scene in the Balneario de La Palma spa, where a Golden Century town was recreated.
